The story of Brawny begins in a Sunderland barbershop. The friendship between our founders, Freddy, the barber, and Nick, the customer, serves as the inspiration. Over the 10+ years of casual barbershop chat, Nick’s business mind and Freddy’s 15 years of experience in hairdressing have combined to set free a dream of a collaborative business that makes the most of each founder’s skills.

The practicality of the barbershop places at the foundations of Brawny, a wealth of experience with all skin, beard, and hair types. It’s our goal to bring this knowledge to the skincare market and keep up with the core tenets of barbery. The barber is a problem solver, a trusted advisor who knows what’s best with just a minute’s conversation. It’s an expertise that goes beyond knowing how to cut hair and beards, but how to style them, maintain them, and keep them healthy. This knowledge, which is 15 years of dealing with all manner of hair and skin,  is invaluable for a men’s skincare brand, providing a bank of knowledge of what men want for their skin and how it fits in with their broader style. Our products have been meticulously formulated with the customer in mind, from the smell to the texture to the ingredients.
